The Art of the Shadowbox Weekend Workshop October 1st and 2nd, 2016
In this workshop, students will combine collage and found materials in a shallow drawer, box, or support of their own choosing.
A visual presentation, at the outset of the weekend, on the history of shadowbox as an art form, will be presented to inspire participants to ‘re-frame’ their ideas about metaphor – both poetic and visual – and expand their art making process to include elements of assemblage.
On-going technical and conceptual support, group discussion and critique, are all part of this stimulating opportunity to make art celebrating inspiration itself. New juxtapositions provide fresh insight into people, places, stories, and the significant events of life. (read more)
