The Art of the Shadowbox Weekend Workshop – October 1st and 2nd, 2016

This two-day workshop will include instruction in designing and executing a shadow box. We will cover interior and exterior additions and mixed media approaches for unifying thematic works.  Basic woodworking tools and hardware, assorted papers and collage and assemblage elements will be available.

Hours for The Art of the Shadow Box are 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM. The two-day workshop fee is $275.00 (materials fee included). This covers instruction and guided exercises to develop your design, supervised assembly, and individual and group critiques. All collage materials, adhesives, basic hardware, a selection of wood and found materials, and access to all tools in the studio are included.  Space is limited and registrations will be honored in the order in which they are received. The instructor, Katie Dell Kaufman, is an award winning assemblage and collage artist who creates two and three dimensional work out of wood, paper, found materials and wax.  She was a member of the Drawing and Painting Department faculty at the Corcoran College of Art and Design for 21 years.  (BACK to page one) (To see participants boxes)
