Online Drawing Three – Lesson One

Lesson One is a Complementary Color Still Life in Chalk Pastel.
Use no more than 4 objects + a table or table cover that has complementary color relationships.
My still life for the demo includes blue and orange items. These can include light blue, salmon (or pastel orange), bright orange, dark blue, and white – even the brown table below is a variation of orange (burnt sienna) and works with the color relationship.

Other choices of complementary color relationships include Red – Green and Purple – Yellow or any two colors that are opposite each other on the color wheel.

Keep in mind that it is easier to draw simple shapes where the objects can be reduced to variations of cylinders, spheres, cones, pyramids, rectilinear prisms, or cubes – or composites of two or more of these forms.
